Recently engaged and wondering if your fiancé will take a totally different approach to planning than you? Or, could you possibly have the signs in your chart that might make you a groomzilla? Digging into the astrology just might bring some claritys to how you’ll take on your engagement period.
We called upon Aliza Kelly, celebrity astrologer and host of the brand new podcast AstroloTea with Aliza Kelly, to give you the astrological guidance you need to understand your wedding horoscope. Read ahead to dive into what drives each sign when planning their big day.
Aries
When planning their wedding, Aries will want the celebration to be considered the “best.” Kelly explains, “As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is naturally competitive. They need the best dress, the best venue, the best food, the best party anyone has been to all year—nay! Their entire life! There’s a strong instinct to win the moment, and they trust themselves to know what ‘best’ actually means.”
“Decisions happen quickly because Aries doesn’t second-guess their taste—they follow their gut and move,” she elaborates. “The aesthetic is bold, elevated, and high-impact, with choices that feel current and undeniable. You walk into an Aries wedding and immediately understand a new standard has been set.”
Taurus
It’s all about the look and feel of the day when a Taurus plans their wedding. “Taurus approaches wedding planning as an act of devotion to beauty, comfort, and pleasure. They want every detail to feel good—the space, the tablescapes, the catering,” describes Kelly. “Fabric matters. Lighting matters. The weight of a fork, the softness of a napkin, the quality of the wine—it's all being considered. And there's literally nothing more important than the floral arrangements! Ultimately, they're craving decadence, but also coziness, sensuality, and abundance.”
Gemini
When it comes to a Gemini, Kelly shares that their planning emphasis is on perfecting the flow of the party. “They want movement, variety, stimulation—something that evolves over the course of the night. This often shows up in multiple looks, unexpected transitions, layered programming,” she says. “The energy stays dynamic because Gemini understands that attention is fluid. Their wedding reflects their curiosity and their social intelligence; it invites interaction, storytelling, exchange. Maybe even some fire-breather performances? One thing’s for sure: Gemini is here to have fun.”
Cancer
Sentimentality is key at a Cancer’s wedding. “Cancer approaches wedding planning with memory in mind. This is not just an event—it’s a living, breathing photo album,” explains Kelly. “They think about family, lineage, continuity. They think about who's present at the event and who is there in memory. The aesthetic often leans intimate and personal, but the impact is profound because every detail carries meaning.”
Expect a Cancer to lean into the trend of rewearing their mother’s wedding dress or absolutely making sure they have something old, new, borrowed, and blue in their wardrobe. “Heirlooms, traditions, symbolic gestures—these aren’t just relegated to a table, they’re the foundation of the entire event,” adds Kelly.
Leo
When a Leo is going to tie the knot, everyone around them will know it. “Roll out the red carpet! This isn't a wedding; this is theatre! Leo plans a wedding that understands scale, presence, and impact,” says Kelly. “This is a moment they step fully into, and they expect it to be seen, felt, remembered.”
“The fashion is intentional and commanding. The space is curated to hold attention. There is joy in the performance of it all—the entrance, the lighting, the music, the pacing,” she explains. “Whether large or small, a Leo wedding is steeped in unforgettable moments and delightful theatricality. And a little drama isn't always a bad thing.”
Virgo
A Virgo is perhaps the happiest sign when it comes to the actual planning of a wedding. “The devil is in the details, and no one knows this better than Virgo. They notice everything, and that attention becomes the architecture of the event,” notes Kelly. “There’s a deep respect for craftsmanship, for details that elevate the entire experience without needing to announce themselves. Nothing is accidental. A Virgo wedding feels effortless, but that ease is earned through discernment, precision, and so much care.” She adds, “While the wedding isn't showy, it is poignant—and ultimately, that type of raw authenticity is exactly what this earth sign craves.”
Libra
“Libra knows how much aesthetics matter, and every choice reflects a desire for cohesion—an environment where everything belongs,” says Kelly. “The palette, the florals, the fashion, the flow of the evening—everything is in perfect harmony.”
A Libra’s love of balance also makes them a perfect host. “A Libra wedding feels romantic, but it also feels deeply aware of the guests' experiences, because Libra knows that, ultimately, this event is for them,” says the astrologer. “From paying close attention to accommodations, shuttles, and gift bags, Libra wants to ensure that everyone is having the time of their life.”
Scorpio
“When it comes to throwing a wedding, Scorpios want atmosphere, depth, and emotional gravity,” notes Kelly of the water sign. “The aesthetic may lean into contrast—light and shadow, intimacy and power, vulnerability and control. Classic rose bouquets, sharp silhouettes, and formal attire.”
You may see a Scorpio decide on an intimate guest list to only share this moment with their closest circle. “A Scorpio wedding draws you in; it becomes a private, immersive experience,” says Kelly. “In an ideal world, this affair could even have a slightly gothic edge: think Anne Rice meets Grace Kelly (who was, in fact, a proud Scorpio).”
Sagittarius
Sagittarius will likely have their guests grabbings for their passports. “It’s the destination wedding you most definitely saw coming! Known for their deep wanderlust, they are drawn to expansive experiences: faraway settings, cultural influences, a sense of openness in both environment and energy,” says Kelly. “The structure is flexible, the tone is joyful, the fashion feels expressive rather than confined.”
“Sagittarius may even want to play with a fun costuming (perhaps a disco theme—or looks inspired by Sag's favorite book),” she adds. “Fundamentally, a Sagittarius wedding invites people into a story that extends beyond a single location or moment; the journey is the destination.”
Capricorn
Tradition is paramount when it comes to a Capricorn’s nuptials. “Capricorn approaches wedding planning with vision and long-term perspective. They think about structure, legacy, and how this moment will hold up over time,” shares Kelly. “The aesthetic often leans classic and elevated, with a strong emphasis on quality and execution. Every choice supports a larger framework. A Capricorn wedding feels grounded, sophisticated, and enduring.”
A Capricorn will also be sure to brush up on wedding etiquette as they dive into planning to follow things by the book. “There’s a sense of respect for the institution of marriage, paired with a clear understanding of what it takes to build something lasting. This is someone investing in a future they fully intend to create—everything is serious, even serious fun.”
Aquarius
When you think of a wedding that goes against tradition, it was likely planned by an Aquarius. “Aquarius plans a wedding by questioning the premise altogether. They are less interested in following tradition and more interested in creating something that reflects their values and individuality,” explains Kelly. “This can show up in unconventional formats, unexpected design choices, or a reimagining of what a wedding even looks like. Whether they're eloping or gathering people in their kitchen or getting hitched in a public park, Aquarius loves breaking the mold—especially when it comes to the institution of marriage.”
Pisces
Sensitive and creative, a Pisces will lean into the emotion and whimsy of a wedding. “Pisces approaches wedding planning as an act of imagination and feeling. They are drawn to vibes, sensations, and choices that blur the line between reality and dream,” says Kelly. “The aesthetic often feels romantic, fluid, almost cinematic. Light, texture, music, scent—all contribute to a sense of immersion. There’s an emotional openness, a reverence for a universal love that inevitably becomes a sacred bond shared not just by the couple, but by the guests as well.” The astrologer adds, “By the end of the night, everyone is crying, hugging, and maybe even hooking up. It's a whole thing.”
