Jonathan Newhouse, Charles Townsend, and Anna Wintour Host a Party for Gina Sanders in Paris

The event was a stylish sunset affair of international proportions, and almost every major designer came out for a congratulatory toast.

Guests of Gina Sanders couldn’t have wished for a more pleasant Indian summer's evening in Paris to celebrate her new appointment as president of Condé Nast Global Development. Hosted by Jonathan Newhouse, Charles Townsend, and Anna Wintour on the terrace of the Shangri-La Hotel in the elegant 16th arrondissement, the event was a sunset affair of international proportions, and almost every major designer came out for the congratulatory toast. As chic Americans-in-Paris like Lauren Santo Domingo and Vanessa Traina Snow raised their glasses, the roll call of local heavy-hitters that came through the door was seemingly endless: Dries Van Noten, Karl Lagerfeld, and Peter Copping, who arrived fresh from showing his new collectsion for Nina Ricci at the Tuileries just hours earlier—not to mention a strong British contingent that included designers Erdem Moralioglu and Mary Katrantzou. Dressed in an elegant blush-pink look by Christian Dior, Sanders—the woman of the hour—was radiant and relaxed amidst the star-studded crowd of well-wishers.
