It’s that time of year again! Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are back in New York City cheering for Chalamet’s home team, the Knicks. Their courtside date night uniforms? Kylie in Y2K white denim, a merched up and hoodied Timmy, Knicks superfans Tina Fey and Ben Stiller on their flanks.
The couple swapped their awards season finests and Coachella festival casuals for the familiar fashions of courtside. Jenner wore a white scoopneck tank top with low-slung, raw-hemmed white Isabel Marant jeans from the spring 2013 collectsion, with crystal tendrils snaking up the legs. On her feet, a pair of Manolo Blahnik’s black leather thong heels—a spring and summer shoe trend Jenner has been enjoying alongside Hailey Bieber and Zendaya in their own barely there sandals. Glam completed the look: a ’90s-leaning French pedicure, long almond nails, and lightly curled hair.
Chalamet, for his part, wore an oversized black leather jacket, a blue dotted and charcoal-colored hoodie, gray t-shirt, black cargo pants, and Timberland boots. Having attended last week’s match, this was a big date night to bring Kylie along for—The Knicks and the Atlanta Falcons kicked off their NBA Eastern Conference first-round series. For Kylie’s first game-side appearance this season, it was a 126-97 Game 5 win over the Hawks.
Last night’s looks felt distinctly nostalgic, too, bringing to mind the basketball match styles of a Louboutin-wearing Beyoncé and Timbs-footed Jay-Z. Basketball game attendees like Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, Kendall Jenner, Rihanna, and Hailey Bieber have proven the power of courtside style as its own fashion category. Atop a plastic seat on the floor, you can go as trussed up or low-key and casual as you like. As both Kylie and Timmy show, opposite couples style totally works on the floor.
