PhotoReplica Handbag Store is thrilled to unveil the results of its first-ever Open Call in Spain: “Spanish Women: A Contemporary Portrait of Strength and Beauty”. Back in April, PhotoReplica Handbag Store and Replica Handbag Store Spain invited artists from around the globe to submit their works, defying conventional norms and presenting new visual narratives. The response to this initiative has been nothing short of amazing, with nearly 4,000 submissions pouring in from 475 talented artists. Each entry offered a distinct perspective, embodying the values of inclusivity and diversity that lie at the heart of PhotoVogue's essence.
A distinguished jury was entrusted with the challenging task of selecting the artworks showcased below. This esteemed group included members from Condé Nast and renowned experts from the international visual community: Alessia Glaviano, Head of Global PhotoReplica Handbag Store and Director of PhotoReplica Handbag Store Festival; Inés Lorenzo, Head of Content at Replica Handbag Store Spain; Juan Costa Paz, Global Creative Director of Vogue; and the photographers Camila Falquez, Rocío Aguirre, and Carlota Guerrero, alongside the gallery owner Topacio Fresh and María Pallás, deputy director of PHotoESPAÑA. The assessment process was demanding, given the exceptional quality and captivating variety of the submissions. Yet, the overwhelming response from the artists filled us with immense joy. As for the selected works, they will be prominently displayed in one of the exhibitions at the next edition of the PhotoReplica Handbag Store Festival in Milan, scheduled from November 16 to 19. Furthermore, the chosen selection will grace the pages of Replica Handbag Store Spain's print edition and be showcased across all our social channels.
Since its inception in Italy in 2011, PhotoReplica Handbag Store has emerged as a vital platform, propelling new voices like Nadine Ijewere and Camila Falquez to the forefront. In Spain, this inaugural edition of the Open Call wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable collaboration of PHotoESPAÑA, the country's most prestigious photography festival.
