The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Donned Sleek Summer Staples

We’re now in the thick of summer, and celebrities have been nailing warm-weather style for the past two months. In the absence of red carpets due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes, Hollywood A-listers have been showing off their sense of style via casualwear instead. While classic in feel, however, these trendsetters have opted for subtle updates that make summer staples from bra tops to slip dresses look fresh and modern.

Of course, there have been plenty of pretty summer dresses in the mix. While walking her dog Colombo in New York, Emily Ratajkowski made a statement in a power-red Marcia dress, complete with a sexy high leg slit. In Albania, Dua Lipa embraced vacation style in Celine’s black-and-white mini dress, complete with a plunging back. At a party in Montauk, model Elsa Hosk went for a sweet, summery print in The Attico’s floral beach dress—complete with the Barbie-pink shoes to match, naturally.

Sheer dressing had a moment this week as well. At the Miu Miu summer club in Malibu, Ruth Negga donned the label’s black bra top with a white sheer maxi skirt. On her Instagram, Rosalía sported Simone Rocha’s pink lace slip dress, adorned with a bowed trim. They both proved that see-through silhouettes can be sweet—though, in Vegas, Kylie Minogue’s transparent Mugler gown went the racy route.

There were also some dressier pieces that were perfect for summer nights. At the Duke of York Theatre in London, Lily Allen emerged in Lurline’s leather gown with a sequined bodice. In Lake Como, Amal Clooney was disco-ready in a shimmery silver Paco Rabanne babydoll dress. While out and about in London, meanwhile, Florence Pugh strayed from the pack and rocked Moschino’s bright red jumpsuit, complete with mounds of golden necklaces. More is more!
