“This was taken at Copenhagen Fashion Week by the lovely Søren Jepsen. Top and bottom by the amazing Freya Dalsjø; necklace by Monies. Braids completed the look. I love keeping my hair natural or braided. Sunglasses by Fendi, sandals by Jérôme Dreyfuss. (It was actually warm that day.)”

“This was taken at a skate park not far from my house. Copenhagen is amazing at building and maintaining public spaces for recreation. I’m wearing Henrik Vibskov pants and a Lærke Andersen jacket—she’s a wonderful Danish designer—with Timberland boots.”

“Bench life at the skate park. Nothing like watching people and their own expressive, weird, and wonderful behavior.”

“Nadia Marilena Roccato took this at the Guldknappen [fashion] awards. It was the last day of summer and this Berggren Studio robe set was the perfect garment. The cut is gorgeous and there is so much movement in the material. I wore it with a black vintage velvet top from my mother. So many hidden shapes. Berggren Studio has another killer collectsion on the way. . . .”

“My friend Justin Carter took this photo in Tokyo. It was during Sakura, and we were wandering around the city, looking at signs and logos, and Fila somehow fit perfectly into the mix with a red Wood Wood turtleneck underneath. Love layers.”

“Victor Jones took this for Hummel. It’s a great mix of everything: Hummel, a vintage necklace from a Stockholm antique store, a French jacket that my mother embroidered, and some track pants from Uniqlo. Again, I love using natural hair to accentuate and make noise. In this climate, it’s all about the right products. I use Danish brand Purely Professional, which doesn’t contain sulfates that dry out my hair.”

“Nadia Marilena Roccato and I took this outside the Botanical Gardens in Copenhagen, which is one of my all time favorite places in the city. When I first moved here from California, I would sit inside and feel the warmth from the heaters that are installed to keep the tropical plants alive in the cold north. I’m wearing another amazing Monies piece, and it just worked better to put it on top of the hoodie.”

“This was taken in L.A. at the women’s march. As depressing as the news of the world currently is, I’m convinced we are also living through the most interesting and active political time. The speed of technology and the ability to fuel activism through it, not to mention the sheer power of grassroots movements, is an overwhelming solace during these dark times. Fendi sunglasses, coat by Danish brand Libertine-Libertine.”

“Another photo from Copenhagen Fashion Week. I’m in a Rodebjer set—that color!—and Louboutin boots, with earrings from Monies.”

“I wore this piece of sunshine by Henrik Vibskov with sunglasses by Dior, and shoes by Monki, to the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, while discussing the future of sustainability in fashion with bright, hopeful, young designers. It was a glorious day at the Royal Danish Academy’s School of Architecture and Design, not far from where I studied acting.”

“It’s winter again [at Copenhagen Fashion Week] and this look really works. I am in Danish designer Anne Sofie Madsen’s print jumper and huge fuzzy hat, paired with vintage denims. I kept my hair out; it’s another play on texture. I am also carrying a Leowulff bag.”
