Earlier this fall, Vogue debuted a new volume in their collectsion of coffee table books, titled Vogue: Fantasy & Fashion. Edited by our very own Archives Editor Laird Borrelli-Persson, its pages are filled with the magazine’s reinterpretation of fairy tale and fantasy-inspired fashion and photographs.
Speaking of fairytales, we could all use a little magic this holiday season, or perhaps a few beautiful and whimsical gifts to cheer us up. After the last 12 months, a dreamy gift might do more than just dazzle but also has the power to spark our imaginations too, thus allowing us to find joy through escapism. For instance, take Rodarte’s ruffled gown fit for a princess or Sauer’s spellbook-inspired ring with sapphires, rubies, and diamonds–a girl can dream. For a (somewhat) practical household gift, there’s Mackenzie Childs’s romanticized spin on a flower-adorned golden candelabra, a porcelain tea set from Seletti a la Beauty and the Beast, or House of Hockney’s Pegasus bookends. Sadly, however, these gifts are not guaranteed to sing and dance.
And for those who like to play dress-up or are accessory lovers at heart, they might appreciate Le Let’s organza garden crown headband, Maison Margiela’s jewel-tone velvet evening gloves, or Beepy Bella’s romantic collar necklace with opals. Oh, and don’t forget to click your party heels in Amina Muaddi’s ruby red slingbacks, too.
Mirror mirror on the wall, here are the dreamiest gifts of them all.
