Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade Did His-and-Hers Tanks at the Prada Show

Earlier today, Prada debuted its new spring 2023 collectsion in Milan, and the front row was jam-packed with stars like Rami Malek, Jeff Goldblum, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Joining the VIP area was also the fashion-forward pair Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade. Together, the Wades pulled off a coordinated couple style moment that was all about embracing his-and-hers tanks. Leave it to the stylish duo to take a casual garment and make it feel entirely dressy and catwalk-worthy.

To ensure the two stars’ ensembles felt cohesive, Union’s stylist Thomas Christos Kikis and Wade’s stylist Jason Bolden linked up on a singular vision. “Jason and Dwyane fit earlier in the week, and Jason sent over fitting photos of his knit tank and boiler suit, so we tried to stay in the same world,” Kikis tells Vogue. For Bolden, Wade’s look was all about nodding to a signature Prada shape while making it feel fresh. “This was Dwayne’s first Prada show, so we really leaned in to our take on the classic ’90s Prada sport look with Prada’s fall 2022 boiler suit as an anchor,” says Bolden. “We knew the temperature in Milan would be scorching, so we paired the boiler suit with Prada’s yellow knit tank to finish off the look.” Layered necklaces by fine jewelry labels Sydney Evan and Mr. Purl rounded out the look. “The result, as you can see, was pure magic,” says Bolden.

As for Union, Kikis wanted a streamlined look that nodded to Wade’s, while embracing her own individuality. He also took the sizzling conditions in Milan into consideration. “It’s scorching heat in Milan, so the mood for Gabrielle’s look for the show was high summer,” says Thomas Christos Kikis. “Ultimately, the mood was ‘skin and body’—which isn’t hard to do when you’re working with Gabrielle.” While Prada sent over several options, it was the simple, beige tank dress with a fringed hemline that caught both of their eyes. She accessorized with jewels by Tiffany & Co, a Prada bag, and simple strappy sandals. Playing off each other’s style without copying, they were the show’s best-dressed guests.
