Images of the Week: The Costume Institute Announces Its Two-Part Exhibition

It was a big week for fashion fans. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute announced a two-part exhibition for fall 2021 and spring 2022 centered around American fashion. Which means that the Met Gala will take place this September and be back to the first Monday in May for 2022. Celine and Gucci also showed their née collectsions. While Celine’s was all about understated luxury, Gucci went for bombastic glamour and even borrowed Balenciaga’s logos for a few looks. Meanwhile, Precious Lee also become Vogue.com’s first guest editor, bringing a wellness series to the site. 

Finally, photographer June Newton died at the age of 97 last Friday. The wife of Helmut Newton, she’s remembered for her indelible images, including the one of her late husband, featured here. Below, see the images of the week.
