Met Gala 2016: Fashion—Live From the Red Carpet

The Met Gala—the party of the year, as well as the fashion industry’s most pivotally important red carpet—is finally here. The evening’s event on the first Monday in May is, as Vogue International Editor at Large Hamish Bowles has said, a “glamorous arena for high fashion,” and one in which the museum’s exhibitions and the sartorial choices of the designers and attendees are given equal weight in the wider world. The choices that are made here tonight will have a ripple effect across the industry and culture at large as they establish and confirm the future of fashion—trends and all.
