It doesn’t get more New York than the subway. Those of us who rely on it for our daily transportation may have built our entire wardrobes around it, whether we realize it or not: Our shoes can withstand the concrete and grime, our crossbody bags keep our belongings close, and our summer dresses are rarely white—far too impractical! Jeremy Scott elevated the humdrum experience on Monday night by staging his Moschino pre-fall show at the New York Transit Museum. Editors sat in old subway cars while models and dancers weaved through the cramped spaces. They each wore a Scott-ified version of various NYC subcultures—tracksuits for the downtown set, sweater sets for the uptown ladies—and you can expect the cartoonishly oversized accessories to become memes overnight.
