Taking its name to heart, Public School staged its runway show as a semipublic event. Before entering the show venue, where press and buyers were seated, models did a lap outside for iPhone-wielding fans who had scored free wristbands the day before.

Leonardo DiCaprio may have done it first at the SAG Awards, but General Idea brought vaping to the fashion world. Models in its show clutched Innokin vapes in their hands as they walked, though no dude was actually brave enough to take a puff.

Fashion designers will not take this election season sitting down. Ricardo Seco, a Mexican-American designer, parodied Donald Trump’s stance on immigration and Mexican relations at his presentation, while John Varvatos featured projections of candidates’ faces over mannequins wearing his latest looks.

The New York Giant’s Victor Cruz, the Mets’s Matt Harvey, and the New England Patriots’s Julian Edelman were among the athletes who traded the field for the runway this week. They weren’t the only celebrities to show, either: Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. were also spotted in the frow.

Bill Nye! The science guy posed for photos in an entirely plaid suit at Nick Graham’s presentation. Nye’s presence was warranted—he collaborated with Graham on a line of bow ties last fall—but still out of the realm of typical men’s week celebrity spottings. Perhaps Neil deGrasse Tyson will turn up at the women’s shows next? A girl can dream.
