Saks Arrived in Aspen With a Weekend-Long Celebration

To fete the new Saks pop-up in Aspen, the luxury retailer knew a single event was simply not enough. Though the town is not lacking in shopping experiences, there isn’t quite anything like the department store, and so a weekend-long stretch of activities was the only way to go.

Dubbed the VIP weekend, a crop of celebrities, influencers, and Saks regulars flew to the mountain town to visit the new pop-up, located at 516 East Hyman Avenue. (The shop is open through July 29.) In attendance were Saks CEO Marc Metrick and actress Zoey Deutch, who kicked things off with a welcome dinner at Aspen institution Casa Tua.

The dress code on the final evening read “summer whites” at buzzy late-nite boîte Betula. Cohosted by jewelry designer Anita Ko, the dinner ended with dessert and then with caviar bumps enjoyed at a caviar trolley parked outside Aspen’s famous (or infamous) Caribou Club. In between these welcome and farewell dinners, guests including Chloe Fineman, Marianna Hewitt, Lili Buffett, Flaviana Matata, Tina Craig, Casey Fremont, and Cece Barfield Thompson used The Little Nell hotel as HQ. The days were filled with spa treatments at Remède Spa at the St. Regis Aspen Resort, a picnic on Aspen mountain, and shopping trips to the new pop-up. All in all, it was the perfect Aspen weekend; no one even missed the snow.
