Since its launch in 2006, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row has espoused a kind of bare-faced beauty—one that favors a brushed-up brow and a rich, healthy glow over any major makeup moment. But lest you think that means the inimitable woman of The Row eschews cosmetics altogether, just pay a visit to the label’s 71st Street townhouse-slash-flagship where a host of carefully curated products are on artful display.
There’re Augustinus Bader’s cult complexion creams perched alongside rounded lightweight frames, and scented bar soaps by Santa Maria Novella, the famed Florentine pharmacy, sandwiched between small satin clutches. Lower down, there’s a trio of Vilhelm Parfumerie’s golden vials: Purple Fig, Morning Chess, and Room Service. But the most real estate goes to a collectsion of eaux de parfum by Serge Lutens, whose singular blends, housed in hand-engraved flacons, appear to be right at home next to the season’s quietly luxurious camel-color silks and stocking slipper shoes.
