Photo: Indigital.tv1/16Sally Singer, Vogue Creative Digital DirectorI love white jersey and am always looking for new additions to my collectsion of Hellenic/Scarface frocks. Lucky for me, Resort ’18 is a slinkathon. I would wear this beauty from Chanel with my Zana Bayne harness and white Adidas for day, before switching into all that fabulous Chanel-ery for evening.
Photo: Courtesy of Victoria Beckham2/16Nicole Phelps, Director, Replica Handbag Store RunwayI’m spending the Fourth of July in Paris at the couture shows, so the only fireworks I’ll be seeing are of the runway variety. This Victoria Beckham dress epitomizes the dressed-up but dressed-down note I’ll be going for while I’m over there.
Photo: Courtesy of Aalto3/16Steff Yotka, Vogue Fashion News and Emerging Platforms EditorAalto turns the classic white shirt into a coolly tailored dress with poignant designs—note the Olympic rings in a rainbow made of all gender symbols. I’d wear it in a snap. I might also try the knee socks and pseudo-oxfords because I hate open-toe shoes (and I love a bit of quirk).
Photos: Courtesy of Carolina Herrera; Courtesy of Johanna Ortiz4/16Alessandra Codinha, Vogue Culture EditorCarolina Herrera outdid herself with her feminine, optimistic Resort collectsion this year. This is basically everything I love in a dress, but considering my Fourth of July plans are more barefoot than black tie, I love the idea of elevating the planned barbecue in this look by Johanna Ortiz, the red stripes of which nod at Old Glory without being too on the nose about it.
Photo: Courtesy of Alyx5/16Monica Kim, Vogue Fashion News EditorMy vacation wardrobe consists of light long-sleeved jackets (to shield my skin from the sun) and short skirts (sacrificing my leg skin to prevent heatstroke). To me, the first look from Alyx’s Resort collectsion is beyond perfect: A black mini slit up one side and a loose knee-grazing coat thrown on top. Even better, there’s a tough, tactical vest built into the blazer that not only looks cool, but also lets you go shirtless for a nice slice of skin and air circulation. Bliss.

Add a turtleneck into the mix and it’s fashion heaven—even in the summer.
Photo: Indigital.tv7/16Brooke Bobb, Vogue Fashion News WriterIt’s hard to choose just one look since I loved the whole Prada lineup, but this stands out. To me, the off-the-shoulder windbreaker and sheer pleated skirt with knee socks are, together, playing up to the whole idea of glam-leisure without going overboard or pointing too strongly to one specific reference. It’s not hip-hop, it’s not sporty, it’s not street—it’s just Miuccia.
Photo: Courtesy of Koché8/16Liana Satenstein, Vogue Fashion News WriterFor the rest of summer, I want to lounge about in these Koché track pant jeans with just a white tank top.
Photo: Courtesy of Monse9/16Sara Klausing, Vogue Accessories EditorI want to live in this look from Monse. Houndstooth, a perfect menswear slouch, and a red track stripe? Laura and Fernando, are you for real? I would pair these pants with a white T-shirt and slide for ultimate weekend ease.
Photos: Courtesy of Vilshenko10/16Chloe Malle, Vogue ContributorI swoon over every Vilshenko collectsion; it’s just the kind of Russian novel I want to be in. And who wouldn’t want to flounce around on a balmy summer evening wearing one of these dresses? A couple of them are even shades of red, white, and blue—perfect for the holiday!
Photo: Courtesy of Lorod11/16Zoe Ruffner, Vogue Beauty AssociateWhat better way to ring in the Fourth of July than by wearing a designer who celebrates Americana? Lorod’s collectsion this season had a lot of heavy hitters (a lime green button-down, ruched white silk dress, twisted jeans . . .) that I would happily choose for this weekend and beyond.
Photo: Courtesy of Brock Collection12/16Sophia Li, Vogue Entertainment Media EditorTwo words: Brock. Collection. I’ll be in Paris for the start of couture over the Fourth of July weekend, but wouldn’t mind taking a day trip to Versailles in these dresses.
Photo: Indigital.tv13/16Lauren Sanchez, Vogue Assistant to the Executive Director, Editorial and Special ProjectsChristian Dior all the way. The only downfall is I’d have to spend all night cautioning myself for every hot dog bite I’d take—Heinz and Monsieur Dior don’t mix.
Photo: Courtesy of Maggie Marilyn14/16Alexis Tiganila, Vogue DesignerOne of my favorite Resort collectsions this season was Maggie Marilyn. I would wear this over a swimsuit on the beach for the 4th. It’s carefree and easy to throw on while still looking pulled together—amazing!
Photo: Courtesy of Trina Turk15/16Timothy Herzog, Vogue Visual Editor, ResearchEveryone is talking about the male romper, but Trina Turk’s husband, Jonathan Turk, has been designing them for his label Mr. Turk for years. His new version comes with a hood, so it could go from a hot day at the pool to a late-night bonfire party.
Photo: Courtesy of Paco Rabanne16/16Emily Farra, Vogue Fashion News WriterMy summer uniform consists of loose, straight-fitting skirts and white T-shirts, so this Paco Rabanne look is speaking to me. I love the faint checkerboard pattern of the skirt, and the techy ribbed tank would be a nice upgrade to my worn-out tees. I’d wear the look with gold shoes, too!
