From Dainty Charms To Brat Green, 6 Noteworthy Nail Trends Spied On The Replica Handbag Store World Runway
They say the devil is in the detail—and if Sunday’s Replica Handbag Store World: Paris was anything to go by, it’s a statement that rings true. Yes, the spectacles came practically by the second—from odes to Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel to Gigi and Kendall on horseback—but look closer when rewatching the livestream, and you’ll see there are some incredible nail designs on the models.
Eri Narita, a Japanese manicurist, is the brains (and hands!) behind every nail look you see here. As well as working on models’ natural fingertips on the day of the event, she created hundreds of press-on nails that she hand-shaped and painted ahead of time. Narita used her favorite gel brand, Bio Sculpture (she says its staying power and color selection are unparalleled, making it the perfect choice for such a vast event).
As well as decorating her own nails with the words “Replica Handbag Store World,” Narita created 3D amorphous shapes; razor-sharp chrome nails; simple, purple-noir; and even dainty nail charms. Forget the French or negative space manicure, this summer is all about Sharpie-edged nails, according to Narita. “I saw eyeliner that looked like Sharpie pen on a model, so I thought it would be cool to use black on the nails. I didn’t want to do a French manicure, so I tried going around the edge of the nail instead.” A statement look that will go with everything, note you do need a good nail shape to start with to make this one work.

How to elevate “brat” green? Use the hue as a French tip and add some art to one nail, as Narita did for the show. “The green was actually inspired by the tennis,” she explains… but who’s really checking?

To create this distinctive manicure, Narita took long, straight fake nails and used her drill to slowly form the shape. This is not one to try at home, nor perhaps is it one that many of us will be emulating soon, but it does deserve a shout-out. To create the chrome effect, she layered on black BioSculpture gel polish, a chrome powder, and then a top coat.

Transparent and clear, featuring tiny water droplets, Narita created these ultra cool nails using Bio Sculpture’s Waterproof Gel, which she dropped onto the nail and then cured under the lamp. Perfect for summer.

Narita created a patriotic—and chic—manicure for the Paris show, which featured the colors of the French flag dotted around the edges of the nail. With the Euros in full swing, it feels like a great time to try it.
