Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer made a splash at HBO’s bash in a sculptural look from Rick Owens’s spring 2020 collectsion, complete with platform boots and a dramatic thigh-high slit skirt. Snowpiercer’s Rowan Blanchard glittered in a custom lilac sequin Miu Miu dress that revived the brand’s distinctive nude pose print of spring 2010. Across town, at the Warner Brothers celebration, Hailey Bieber and Camilla Morrone went in a slinky direction with crystal-accented LBDs from Saint Laurent and Etro, respectively.

Of course, you didn’t need to be party bound to make an impact. Everyday activities became street style moments, thanks to statement pieces. On the heels of her pregnancy announcement, perennial cool girl Chloë Sevigny debuted her first maternity outfit in New York, a playful tartan overcoat by Simone Rocha worn overtop a body-hugging beige dress and charming belly chain. In Los Angeles, Tessa Thompson enlivened a night out at celebrity hotspot Craig’s in oversized plaid suiting. Meghan Markle’s first public appearance of the year was made all the more impressive by a tan Massimo Dutti skirt and matching suede Jimmy Choos. Still, the prize for most inventive on-the-go look may go to Cate Blanchett this week, who breezed into LAX in a Belstaff leather flight suit that channeled Amelia Earhart, elevating all expectations about airport fashion in the process.
