A wave of change has swept Seoul’s thriving street style scene, as the onetime hypebeasts outside of the city’s Fashion Week shows have exchanged their Vetements hoodies and Off-White belts for primary-school pastels and workwear staples. Stylish citizens of the South Korean capital are known for plugging into social media and deftly adopting the trends they find therein. Thus the death of the obvious hypebeast, as captured by Vogue’s man on the ground Alex Finch, could be considered a sign that the logomanic-streetwear craze has come to an end—or, at least, given way to new things.
