Spotted in London earlier this morning: Anne Hathaway… or was it Andy Sachs? The Devil Wears Prada 2 star has been out and about promoting her new film all month long, and her latest press look was worthy of being worn by her character in the high-fashion film. (We’ve learned from costume designer Molly Rogers, after all, that Andy is now leaning into being a fashion girl.)
The actor stopped by BBC Radio 2 for a chat about the movie, and she sported a chic ensemble that any Runway girl would wear. Hathaway donned a knitwear set from Stella McCartney’s fall 2026 collectsion, consisting of a knee-length skirt and buttoned-up cardigan. The top was of particular interest, as it featured a furry peplum silhouette, fanned out at the waist for some added drama.
We know what you’re thinking: a peplum top in the year 2026? Yes! The 2010s trend—which was embraced by everyone from Rihanna to Victoria Beckham—is making a big comeback on the runways (and on the red carpets) this year. The voluminous shape was seen at fall 2026 shows like Dior, Givenchy, and yes, Stella McCartney, while celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and Jenna Ortega have recently embraced the look too. It’s all about accentuating the smallest portion of the waist and expanding out at the hips for a full-drama effect.
Leave it to a red carpet star like Hathaway, however, to take the look into a new direction entirely. With the addition of a splash of faux fur fabric, it felt just a little more luxe and elevated, especially when paired with her burgundy satin pumps and movie star-worthy shades. It’s like a more discrete take on peplums—a quieter way to take on three-dimensional dressing. And if 2026 has taught us anything, it’s that it’s all about stealthy-chic styling—Anne Hathaway’s got it totally right.
