Sarah Pidgeon isn’t afraid of a little post-cry selfie. “I’ve definitely taken some photos after I’ve cried, ’cause then you get it out and then you cry a little bit more,” she says, mimicking her go-to pose.
Though the 29-year-old actor admits she hasn’t done it in a while, the ritual proved a surprising source of inspiration for her spring makeup look. “I think there’s something so beautiful about the way your eyes look after you cry. So I like to take a little bit of blush and put it on my eyes,” Pidgeon says as she uses her fingers to lightly dab product from her Rhode Pocket Blush onto her eyelids. Her shade of choice? Teacup, the raspberry pink iteration she debuted for the brand last month, alongside Candy Apple and two Peptide Lip Treatments (more on those later).
“What I’m attracted to in blush has changed since being blonde,” she shares. Pidgeon—who estimates her transformation from dark brown to bombshell blonde for Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette took “20-something hours over two days”—now finds herself drawn to pinks instead of the darker, wine-colored shades she used to favor.
And her tresses aren’t the only thing she’s holding on to from her CBK days. After using Rhode’s Peptide Lip Shape to line her lips—she likes to emphasize the corners so her smile seems bigger—Pidgeon reaches for Rom&nd’s Juicy Lasting Tint, a product she says she took from set, and applies it to the middle of her lips. Then, she finishes her lip combo with a few dabs of the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment in Pretzel. (“Smells so good!” she adds.)
But even beyond the beauty, “I hope all of her incredible qualities have rubbed off on me,” Pidgeon says, adding, “I feel like I can’t overstate how grateful I am to have embodied her.”
