If you were to crack open the Rimowa cabin bag of the average fashion girl come July, you’d be almost guaranteed to find certain items inside. A pair of plain flip-flops (either rubber Havaianas or ruinously expensive and from The Row), 111 Skin under-eye patches, a buzzy read (pick up Famesick or Yesteryear at Hudson News in departures), a baseball cap with a discreet, IYKYK logo, and at least one of Hunza G’s distinctive crinkle swimsuits.

Last summer, a triangle Burberry bikini in the classic house check was also on the list, after a sun-soaked and supermodel-packed swimwear campaign helped to make the early Noughties fave a cult item. Now—in good news for anyone who dreads the words “baggage allowance”—style-conscious fliers will be able to kill two birds with one stone, because the brands have joined forces for what looks set to be the swimwear collab of the summer.

Partnering with Burberry is “one hundred percent a dream,” says Hunza G creative director and founder Georgiana Huddart of the limited-edition edit of bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, skirts and scrunchies—all in her brand’s signature stretch crinkle fabric, and trimmed with instantly recognisable flashes of check. “The idea of collabings with Burberry has been on my wishlist,” she confesses. “I don’t know if this makes me believe in manifestation, but I’ve been talking about it casually to my team for about five years.” As for most London girls, she says, Burberry was “so culturally relevant to my formative years. You had Victoria Beckham, Oasis, Kate Moss in a trench… It spans all these moments that define my growing up. It was always there.”

Though Hunza G’s springy sets have been a fixture on beaches from Ibiza to Ischia for a decade now (Huddart relaunched the ’80s label in 2015), partnering with a luxury house feels like a major milestone for the brand. Still, to the designer, the synergy between the two was clear. “We felt we’d be able to create something fab with both brands’ DNA: both being British, both heritage, and both category-defining brands with a focus on fabric innovation. Hunza doesn’t have the span in terms of time, but we were the original users of the crinkle, and the first to use it in swim.”

Something else the labels have in common: “We’ve kind of being organically tag-teaming around the same girls,” Huddart says, like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who appeared in that viral Burberry high summer campaign in 2025 alongside Alva Claire, another Hunza fave. “Rosie was the first major celeb to organically find us,” the designer explains, “she bought five pieces off the website and was just posting about them.” Alva now appears in the wanderlust-inducing campaign for Burberry X Hunza G unveiled here today, along with Sacha Quenby and Simone Ashley.

Huddart says she’ll be packing the Tyler bikini for her own summer holidays (“in black, because I’m boring and I only wear black”), as well as the Devyn swim skirt. “It can be worn as a boob tube or a miniskirt,” she notes. “I like the versatility. It offers a bit more coverage if you want to wear it as a skirt, but it actually looks great with jeans—I can see a lot of people doing that.”

As for what else is in her luggage? “I’m really tall, so I have quite a simple uniform. I always pack black Ray-Bans, a black silk slip dress, black satin trousers, black net Alaïa flats, and a Hunza white shirt. Then a Burberry tote that I’ve used forever for travel.” And when it comes to dream destinations, Huddart’s brief is simple: “Anywhere near the sea with my family,” she says. “I’ve got the nostalgia illness—I always remember everything being sunny and wonderful in the ’90s. So a holiday that feels good for me is a timeless one that doesn’t necessarily indicate we’re in 2026.”
