Charles Finch and Chanel’s annual pre-Oscars party is always a star-studded, intimate affair. The 2026 Oscars event was no exception, with Love Story co-stars Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly leading the charge.
Captured in true party-mode, goofing off, and posing happily for the flashing cameras, it was just as one Instagram user remarked in the Vogue comments: “It is giving me ‘How to not lose a Kennedy in 10 days’ vibe.”
“2000s-coded,” said another. The rom-com energy was really, truly, there.
Everyone’s current favorite on-screen couple were thrilled to be reunited yesterday evening, especially because it’s the first-ever Academy Awards weekend for them both. “I feel like a mermaid,” Pidgeon told Vogue of her periwinkle-toned sequin slip from Matthieu Blazy’s Métiers d’art 2026 collectsion. “This color! It’s like toothpaste…but super chic toothpaste.” Kelly, for his part, opted for an all-black, tailored suit with an unbuttoned black silk shirt, sans tie.
Pigeon finished off her own look with the much sought-after spring 2026 pumps in matching mint green and black, as well as a Chanel Strass imitation pearls and gold-tone metal and crystal evening bag, with lashings of Chanel jewelry: a Bouton De Camelia Ring, Extrait De Camelia Transformable ring, and Bouton De Camelia Earrings.
Pidgeon is firmly establishing her own sense of celebrity style that feels at times in total step with her character, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, but also, transcended the codes of CBK to inject a more playful feel. Of recent, she’s been out and about in a cool Celine peplum jacket, a silky shirt by New York fave Colleen Allen, and Prada leathers. She’s also been toting a Loewe Amazona bag regularly, and a Bvlgari Rodeo tan shoulder number. On the red carpets, her fashions are experimental and pretty, like the pastel pink Balenciaga balloon dress she wore to the 2026 SAG Actors Awards.
