King Charles and Queen Camilla have begun their official state visit, hosted by President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump. The pair touched down at Joint Base Andrew in Maryland, kicking off the four-day trip, which includes an address to Congress—the first of its kind since Queen Elizabeth II addressed Congress in 1991.

The occasion was kicked off by a private tea between King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Trumps. The first lady retained her usual pared back, sober style, wearing a pale yellow Adam Lippes skirt suit—a favored choice of designer—and matching snakeskin heels. The hue was a subtle rendition of a dress she wore during her last encounter with the Queen, when during a visit to the U.K. last September, she opted for a canary yellow off-the-shoulder gown with an accenting pastel purple belt. The soft yellow was balanced by Queen Camilla’s white mid-length dress, featuring cobalt blue embroidery along the V-neckline.

Following Tuesday evening, King Charles and Queen Camilla will travel to New York, where they will visit the 9/11 Memorial and meet with Mayor Zohran Mamdani before concluding in Virginia for an “America at 250 block party,” in honor of the country’s upcoming anniversary.
