The Best Dressed Stars Played With Texture This Week

Stars like Gabrielle Union, Elvis’s Olivia DeJonge, and Hailey Bieber all opted to forgo bold silhouettes and, instead, focus on texture this week, experimenting with finishings that ranged from glittery sequins to swishy fringes. The end results made for ensembles that felt truly dimensional—and they certainly popped in photographs, too.

The glitziest this week was Bieber, who has been making the press rounds for her new beauty line, Rhode. She appeared on Jimmy Fallon wearing a sequin dress by 16Arlington with cutouts. But in the muted beige shade, it felt more timeless and polished than rocking a straight-up disco ball. Another blingy moment came from DeJonge, who wore a golden Gucci tuxedo suit for a special Elvis screening in New York. Mr. Presley himself would approve of the stage-ready look.

There were also some more stealthy, quietly-luxurious looks that won this week. Take Dakota Johnson in her white Area blazer dress, which was cut to perfection, or Quannah Chasinghorse in her tweed, plunging V-neckline Chanel dress. The perfect mix of classic and modern was punctuated by her own Indigenous-made jewelry. Though, it wouldn’t be a best dressed recap without a major pop of color, too. Maya Rudolph stole the show at the Loot premiere in L.A. wearing a bright-pink Valentino ensemble (with sky-high heels, no less). It was a fabulous week for both minimalists and maximalists alike.
