Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong1/20We decided to get married at a family friend's historic villa in Tuscany. Jon and I had our heart set on getting married somewhere far away and romantic. Here, I am upstairs at the villa getting ready before the ceremony.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong2/20Peter [Dundas] managed to make me really calm about the one thing I found to be very difficult—the dress. I went to a million different places and tried on a million different dresses, and couldn't find one that felt right. But, the second Peter and I started talking, everything went seamlessly.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong3/20I don't consider myself to be an extremely traditional person, but the one thing I really wanted was this traditional wedding-dress silhouette, with sleeves and a train. My bouquet was Lily of the Valley.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong4/20The most important part of the dress was the bow that tied across my shoulders at the back, and then sort of cascaded down mid-leg. And then the jewelry was very important because it's what my mother-in-law does—she has a jewelry company called Sidney Garber. The dress didn't allow for a lot of jewelry, so we decided on the diamond pearl drop earrings that she was married in.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong5/20The veil was hand-sewn with flowers cut from the same lace used on the dress.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong6/20The dress somehow managed to be timeless and elegant, but also kind of sexy—which I think Peter does best.
Photographed by Nathan Smith7/20We got married under a giant stone pine to the side of the villa. Guests walked through from the front of the villa out into the backyard where drinks were being served before the ceremony.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong8/20Aby Rosen and Samantha Boardman's children, Vivian and Baker, wore custom Emilio Pucci and took their duties as flower girl and ring bearer very seriously.

Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong11/20I was really lucky. Jon was involved from the start—throwing a party is totally in his DNA. He loves to host so he really took charge of a lot of the entertaining aspects.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong12/20We had two really long dinner tables set up on this tremendous lawn at the back of the property. We had thought about doing one really long one, but we wanted it to feel a little bit more personal and intimate.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong13/20Bronson van Wyck and his team were incredible when it came to the planning process. We strung larger twinkle lights overhead, creating a really magical setting. And then, we put sparse potted purple, green, and white flowers and candles on the tables. We wanted the tables to feel like you were at a big Italian dinner at someone's home.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong14/20Here we are making our entrance at the reception.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong15/20After dinner and the best man and maid of honor gave their speeches, fireworks took off from the roof of the villa and the Rolling Stones's "You Can't Always Get What You Want" started playing. It was a very theatrical moment.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong16/20After a little local band led guests from the dinner to the dance floor, our first dance was to James Taylor’s “Something in the Way She Moves." Taylor was always playing in our homes growing up, and during our courting process, Jon often sang James Taylor, embarrassingly enough.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong17/20Eventually, guests walked down a path that led to the pool on the property, where we set up another tent with a smaller, more intimate dance floor and they were welcomed by all sorts of crazy entertainment.
Photographed by Nathan Smith18/20I eventually snuck off to change into an Emilio Pucci minidress and Converse high-tops for more dancing.
Photographed by Lucy Brown Armstrong19/20We had fire twirlers, we had contortionists, and a mermaid in the pool.
Photographed by Nathan Smith20/20We had shuttles going until 7:00 a.m. taking guests back to either Lucca, a walled medieval town where many stayed, or Forte dei Marmi, a beach town about ten minutes away.
