It’s time again for Beauty Marks, Vogue’s series that shouts out the best in beauty each week. We’re also propelling ourselves into Aquarius season: a sign that relishes in the free-spirit, and one the beauty world chose to channel this week. From Chloë Sevigny’s bombshell blonde curls and vintage coral lip, to Putricia the blooming corpse flower (and now it-girl) nails, Eusexua singer FKA twigs’ futuristic face tattoos, and Tate McRae’s striped hair: we’re feeling the fantasy.
Elsewhere, hairstylist Aya Kuraoka—known for her neon striped wigs, star-studded mullets, and cyberpunk Marie Antoinette hair sculptures— crafted an arpeggiated blonde wig for Coucou Chloe. Kro Vargas, the Miami-based Colombian-Ecuadorian nail artist tapped often by Rosalía, created bedazzled baby blue claws for club queen Miss Bashful. Heading over to Paris, Willy Chavarria’s fall 2025 show was filled with bouffant fros and bold tributes to Chicano beauty.

Keke Palmer’s red hair era
Keke Palmer continues a glorious press tour for One of Them Days, swapping out her razor-sharp auburn bob for a long and flowing, higher-octane red look. Wig artist and stylist Kira Dior is the one behind this rich color, bounce, and sculptural side flip. Keke loves color—she’s been diva blonde, blue, and cherry red in the past, but siren strawberry really suits her.

The Japanese, London-based hairstylist Aya Kuraoka creates hair sculptures for cyberpunk Marie Antoinettes. Acid pink hair bows, reverse fringes, rainbow-studded jellyfish cuts. For French musician Coucou Chloe, she’s made an ice-blonde, arpeggiated wig.

Michelle Yeoh’s Edna Mode hair
Michelle Yeoh isn’t afraid to experiment with her hair: knife-sharp full fringes, waist-length auburn hair, blonde Hollywood waves. She works regularly with hairstylist Dena Neustadter Giannini, who also collaborates with Anya Taylor-Joy and Selena Gomez. This week, Yeoh did as we’ve all done and chopped her hair into a bob à la la Edna Mode. Chic!

I, like many, have been enthralled by Putricia the blooming corpse flower, who has been in residence at the Botanic Gardens of Sydney emitting a stench of rotting flesh as she unfurls. TikTok star, it-girl, now a sculptural nail decal by the talented, Sydney-based nail artist Victoria Houllis. She’s perfected Putricia’s waxy texture, purpling spathe, and acid green spadix—sans stink.

The pop star and Vogue Beauty Secrets alum is soon to drop her third album, So Close to What, and shared a BTS of her latest music video “Sports Car.” While it’s full of fun fashion and archival pulls, the video also sees Tate with some of her most subversive and ambitious beauty looks yet—her thick racing striped hair in particular.

Willy Chavarria’s fall 2025 show and Paris Fashion Week debut was a gorgeous tribute to Chicano beauty: bouffant fros, skinny eyebrows, sumptuous red lips. Indya Moore and Paloma Elsesser were among those painted and coiffed. “They wanted to be a part of it, of an expression of resistance against oppression for, specifically, queer and trans people, women, and immigrants, Chavarria told Vogue. “They’ve all come together in this moment to not only look fierce and be beautiful, but to amplify this message and take it on.”
