Welcome back to Beauty Marks: Vogue’s weekly edition of the best moments in celebrity beauty, from Vogue editors’ IG feeds, and all the glam of the fashion and pop culture landscapes. This week, the overarching brief for the glam teams was feminine, fun, and fierce. The ESPYs took place, and saw the best athletes in their respective sports also prove they’re the best dressed. American rugby union star Ilona Maher, who picked up Best Breakthrough Athlete, paired her bombshell, midriff-exposing dress with a killer red lip. Meg Stalter continued her campy press tour for her hit Netflix show Too Much with big blonde curls surely set with some of the Diet Coke cans she tossed to make her bustier. Pamela Anderson also stepped out with a newly chopped and restyled bob, leaning all the more into the retro aesthetic she’s been enjoying of late.

It’s the summer of fish nails, so declared nail artist San Sung Kim, known for both sleek and minimalistic, and zany avant-garde hand-painted nails. This set is painted onto a long almond nail shape, with a rainbow of crystal fishes and caviar beads.

Nail artist Michelle Humphrey has spent the summer directing how we all get our nails done, with inspo from Dua Lipa’s crystal floral nails to Charli xcx’s Brat tour mani. Humphrey has a particular talent for a creative twist on the classic French manicure (A recent leopard print tip is saved to my own Pinterest). This week, she gave actor Simone Ashley a cute, periwinkle blue cat eye French.

American rugby union star Ilona Maher was the ultimate bombshell at the 2025 ESPY Awards, picking up Best Breakthrough Athlete in a show-stopping, midriff-exposing black dress. Glam matched the femme fatale vibe. Makeup artist Kendal Fedail used the Maybelline Super Stay Liquid Lipstick in ‘Pioneer’ and Lifter Liner in ‘Cross the Line’ to achieve the deep, sensual red lip.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is here! And Lola Tung has been on quite the press tour. For the New York screening, MUA Misha created some super romantic glam, with a brown smoked out eye and tight black eyeliner, a dewy complexion, and taupe lip, all by using Beauty Of Joseon and MCoBeauty. Dana Boyer styled her brunette hair in sleek, loose, languid waves.

Makeup artist Emerald Vysions took inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s painting “The Kiss,” the striking Art Nouveau piece that depicts a couple beautifully intertwining in ornate robes. Emerald will often find inspiration from films and art, like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Moonrise Kingdom. Here, the look revolvess around thin blue brows, a dappled, paintbrush-daubed lip, golden lashes, and an even more intricate lid—the more you study Emerald’s face and the technique, the more beauty unfurls.
