Updos Were the Hair Trend of the Night at The 2025 Oscars

Arguably the biggest show of awards season, all eyes are on the fashion and beauty looks at the 2025 Oscars—especially when it comes to hair. The 97th Academy Awards kicked off at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, and it's bound to be an exciting night. With so many tight races amongst the top categories, many of our favorite celebs are up for their first Oscars. Will Zoe Saldaña and Demi Moore complete their award season sweep? Will Wicked emerge as the dark horse for the coveted Best Picture prize? Only time will tell. But regardless, everyone is a winner in the hair department.

The theme of the night is updos. Everyone is all about gathering their hair and showing off their decolletage. Elle Fanning and Felicity Jones are channeling old Hollywood glam with sleek buns sitting high near the tops of their heads. Storm Reid is going for a high ponytail with styled, sleek edges, while Charlotte Lawrence is going for romance with curled face-framing tendrils.
