“Laura is such a pure artist,” says stylist Cristina Ehrlich of her client, actress Laura Dern. “She’s open-minded to taking risks, but also has an incredible instinct for style.” Those instincts paid off last night at the Emmy Awards, when Dern took home one of the evening’s big prizes, for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series or movie for her role as Renata Klein in HBO’s Big Little Lies. Dern’s silver-sequin-embroidered Proenza Schouler dress was finished with black ostrich feathers for an airy, textural touch. “We wanted to tell the stories of both a very strong and bold person,” explains Ehrlich of why she plucked the piece straight from the Spring 2018 collectsion.
