Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings1/27The invitations were luxuriously thick letterpress versions of my own handwritten invite! I worked with The Arm print press in Williamsburg to create the suite of handwritten invites, notes, and coasters. Evan and I learned how to use the pressing machines ourselves which is an awesome memory.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings2/27We started our glam prep and Champagne-drinking early in the morning! I am blessed to call celebrity stylists Tommy Buckett and Joshua Ristaino some of my best friends, so they volunteered their services for the big day.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings3/27Eva Fehren and I went through the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund together a few years ago. When I saw she was wearing rings similar to this, I snapped a photo for Evan. She worked with him to make these custom in a rose gold. They are so minimal and modern.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings4/27Being a milliner, I wanted to have the most special hat to walk down the aisle. This straw boater in soft sky blue was trimmed with vintage silk tulle I picked up in Paris. The hat was adorned with a diamond hat pin my friend Arabella Hill designed around diamonds from both of my grandmother’s heirloom jewelry and had it cast in white gold. Paul Andrew created custom suede shoes to match the shade of the hat perfectly. One pair of classic pumps and one pair of flats with the same toe shape so no one would know I made a switch for the after-party!
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings5/27I had two-something borrowed items, and one of them was this vintage pearl and diamond bracelet borrowed from my dear friend, Tina. It was her grandmother’s and Tina said it would have made her grandma smile to see it celebrated in such a special way.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings6/27The boys wore boutonniere pins of alligator skin camellia flowers. Evan is the founder of Vereda, and works primarily in wild American alligators hunted in Florida, and made the pins special for this occasion. This was a tender moment when I helped my dad pin his in before we walked down the aisle together.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings7/27Evan stood outside in the garden entry to greet our guests. I think it was unexpected, but a familiar face was the perfect way to welcome everyone.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings8/27We had charming neon signs of our names in my handwriting.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings9/27We didn’t have groomsmen or bridesmaids, so we offered up individual floral corsages and boutonnieres to each of our guests as a gesture they were all party of our intimate bridal party!

Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings11/27My best friend Niia Bertino sang welcome songs accompanied by a harpist, trombone, and bass player. She sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” as I walked down the aisle—there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings12/27The lush and intimate garden of The Standard, East Village was the ideal setting for our ceremony. It felt like a secret city garden all to ourselves.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings13/27One of the clearest memories I have of the wedding ceremony is looking into Evan’s eyes and hearing the loud siren of a passing ambulance and the honks of city traffic. The dichotomy of the tranquil garden and cityscape noises was so classic New York.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings14/27Our friend and pastor from Hillsong Church, Blaze Robertson, was our officiant and made the ceremony so personal. We love him for wearing an impossibly cool denim tuxedo.

Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings16/27I had dreamed of wearing a Vera Wang gown since I was a little girl. It that was the only place I went to try on dresses. The one I landed on was more perfect than I could have ever imagined! The romantic simplicity of the draping and the exposed back read modern and relaxed, and it was just so easy to move around in all day.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings17/27Following the ceremony, we all made our way up to the penthouse space. My wonderful planner Adrianne of Adrianne Elizabeth Events designed an atmosphere that brought in the greenery from the outside garden but celebrated the simplicity of the glass space.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings18/27It is the funniest story of how we came to find this delicate vintage cake topper from the ’30s. Tommy’s cousin Phil discovered it in a trunk from an estate sale and has been holding on to it for years. The piece found a cherished second home!
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings19/27Single white peony buds beautifully cascaded on the tables next to the hand-pressed coasters to rest cocktails on!
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings20/27Making it official! We made a public display of signing our marriage certificate and had many volunteers for witnesses.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings21/27The Manhattan skyline was gilded by a snaking garland of greenery and open white peonies. Evan always brings me bouquets from Sunny’s Florist in the East Village. She created all of our flowers for the wedding day, so it felt super personal.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings22/27It was special to have the closest people we care about from different places and walks of life all in the same room just to celebrate with us.

Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings24/27Some of our fashionable attendees!
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings25/27The bouquet toss got quite competitive, steered by my single younger sister. The lucky girl was my friend Kate, and everyone was envious of her catch.
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings26/27The sweet moment right before Evan smeared cake all over my nose!
Photo: Angela Pham and Tiffany Sage for BFA Weddings27/27After the reception, we all relocated to Wise Men, where Rubirosa pizzas (of course!) and jalapeño margaritas were served, and the DJ spun hip-hop and ’90s until late night.
