Inside the 2022 Fashion Group International’s Night of the Stars

“I want to dedicate this award to the children who have given us the opportunity to be part of their lives, part of their journey,” said Prabal Gurung, accepting his humanitarian award presented by politician and friend Huma Abedin. Despite an awkward musical interruption, Gurung finished his remarks gracefully, and the whole kerfuffle only served to remind us of Gurung’s compassion.

The evening’s events hosted at Casa Cipriani celebrated a wide range of stars in addition to Prabal Gurung: Michael Kors (who regretfully was unable to make the event), Christian Siriano, Sharon Chuter of Uoma Beauty, Rebecca Hessell Cohen of LoveShackFancy, Dionne Warwick, and Firmenich. The 20 + tables in the ballroom were filled with a mix of sponsors, honorees (and their possés, including the likes of Iman, Mariska Hargitay, and Coco Rocha), designers, and press. 

“Getting this Fashion Star Award really feels great,” remarked Siriano upon accepting his own award. “But I’m only a star because I get to work with some of the most amazing people in the world. I want people to feel great and powerful at the moment, and I want to make sure my business is something for everyone.”
