Last night, within the hallowed halls of Roman & Williams’ interior design mecca and restaurant, La Mercerie, a delectable assortment of leather confections could be found. They were dotted throughout the space and sat at each partygoer’s dinner place setting, festooned with the monogram of its soon-to-be owner.
They came courtesy of Leatherology, the Dallas-based purveyor of accessories led by brother-sister duo Rae and David Liu, both of whom were on hand to welcome guests to a dinner celebration co-hosted by Art Production Fund executive director Casey Fremont.
“I think I was first introduced to the brand through their train cases a few years ago, which we have at everyone’s place settings tonight; now it’s something I don’t travel without,” Fremont told Vogue. “But [Rae and David Liu] have been such steadfast supporters of our mission to support public art under the Art Production Fund, so our relationship goes much deeper than just great product.”
The partygoers on hand were indeed a mix of stylephiles and art obsessives. Dining on steak au poivre and towers of delicate gougères were Gayle Rankin, Charly Sturm, gallerist Hannah Traore, photographer Sheree Hovsepain, and Favorite Daughter co-founder Jordan Foster, all of whom were sent off into the night with their totes full of Leatherology goodies, all monogrammed of course.
