Last Night Michael Kors Threw a Studio 54–Themed Disco Party

When you host a Studio 54–themed party, the event must live up to the club’s infamous reputation. Last night at Moxy Chelsea’s after-hours hot spot the Fleur Room, Michael Kors and Interview magazine did just that—from a life-size faux white horse to dancers dressed as disco balls, the party delivered.

Honoring the release of Kors’s Studio 54–inspired capsule collectsion and Interview magazine’s 50th-anniversary issue, the event drew a rowdy crowd of fashion, film, music, and art folk, including Billy Porter, Justine Skye, Ruby Aldridge, Leigh Lezark, Emily Robinson, TK Wonder, Patrick Church, Cipriana Quann, Misha Kahn, Precious Lee, and Richie Shazam.

All of the guests turned up in iconic ’70s looks, ranging from head-to-toe sparkle to patterned wrap dresses. Highlights include Porter’s gold-and-silver sequined suit and TK Wonder and Cipriana Quann’s matching animal-print dresses.

Between the guests’ all-out disco-party outfits and a throwback installation wall plastered with archival Interview magazine covers, the room dripped with glamour. Of course Aldridge provided the perfect soundtrack for the evening, mixing disco-nightclub classics and today’s pumped-up jams.

It wasn’t Saturday night, but clearly everyone had the fever.
