“For the lookbook shoot,” explains Olko, “we really just did a ‘where the day takes you’ kind of thing and followed the girls into the church.”

“From the time I started making the collectsion, I knew I wanted to shoot in the pet store by my apartment,” Olko says, “because of the nature survival themes. I fished as a kid. [This place] is so cool and weird. I love it.”

Asked to describe her New York, Olko replies: “Movies. Freedom: You can see something new and it’s just a subway ride away, the midtown public library (the picture files!), museums, parks, the dog run in Tompkins Square Park, walking , 24-hour delis, deli coffee, chance run-ins with strangers, friends, enemies, exes, family . . . it’s the best.”
