Photo: Charley Smith1/37We had so much fun going to the local market to create these colorful welcome bags for our guests. They set such a festive tone for the weekend!
Photo: Charley Smith2/37This picture was taken on the walk over to the welcome party. We were so happy and excited to see all of our family and friends for the first time and kick off the festivities!
Photo: Charley Smith3/37This veranda overlooks the interior courtyard and pool at Casa Hyder. All of the walls are lined with antique wood carvings and statues. I love how every inch of Casa Hyder is so carefully decorated both inside and out.
Photo: Charley Smith4/37The Spanish Colonial architecture and lush gardens are just a few of the reasons we were so drawn to Casa Hyder. It is straight out of a storybook!
Photo: Charley Smith5/37Pink geraniums in terra-cotta pots lined the balcony outside the room where I got ready on the wedding day.
Photo: Charley Smith6/37The antique diamond and sapphire ring was a wedding gift from Tipper and also my something blue. The ring was passed down from his great-great-grandmother, then mother. It was such a beautiful way to be connected to his mother and family on our wedding day.
Photo: Charley Smith7/37I fell in love with the large floral appliqué on this Oscar de la Renta dress. It was classic with a touch of Spanish flair—exactly what I was looking for!
Photo: Charley Smith8/37My sister was my maid of honor. We had such a wonderful time getting ready together.
Photo: Charley Smith9/37I chose these vintage rose earrings for a romantic feel and a little sparkle.
Photo: Charley Smith10/37I gave my dad a handkerchief that was embroidered with a personal note. This was such a sweet, emotional moment to share together before the ceremony.
Photo: Charley Smith11/37My veil was my something borrowed. It was the same veil my mother wore on her wedding day. Once the veil was in place, I really felt like a bride.
Photo: Charley Smith12/37I was full of excitement as I descended the main staircase on my way to the garden to see Tipper for the very first time.
Photo: Charley Smith13/37In a secluded garden on the property, Tipper and I enjoyed a quiet moment together before the wedding ceremony.
Photo: Charley Smith14/37In this moment I remember thinking that I was so excited to marry this man!
Photo: Charley Smith15/37Guests were seated in the front garden where the ceremony took place. We love that they were able to see all of the different areas of Casa Hyder throughout the day.
Photo: Charley Smith16/37A garland of greenery and white flowers trimmed the antique carved door, which served as the backdrop for the ceremony.
Photo: Charley Smith17/37Seeing Tipper as I walked down the aisle was my favorite moment of the whole day!
Photo: Charley Smith18/37We forgot that anyone else was there for a moment. We couldn’t stop smiling at each other during the ceremony.
Photo: Charley Smith19/37The ceremony felt so intimate under the towering trees of Casa Hyder.
Photo: Charley Smith20/37It was important to us to incorporate the Spanish tradition of the lasso in our ceremony. The lasso was placed over our shoulders in a figure-eight shape, which signifies the infinite bond of our love and commitment to each other.
Photo: Charley Smith21/37Walking down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Tipper!
Photo: Charley Smith22/37An eight-piece mariachi band led the guests out of Casa Hyder and into the streets to kick off the parade to El Jardín, the main square in San Miguel de Allende.
Photo: Charley Smith23/37Flower crowns were given to all of the girls for the parade. Even Benito the burro wore one!
Photo: Charley Smith24/37We might as well have been walking on air as we made our way through the old cobblestone streets to El Jardín.
Photo: Charley Smith25/37One of the most special parts of the parade was all the cheers and well wishes from people as we made our way through the streets.
Photo: Charley Smith26/37People gathered around us as we made our way to the main square. The crowd started chanting “Beso! Beso!” and we were, of course, happy to oblige.
Photo: Charley Smith27/37The mariachi band was so lively and upbeat, encouraging everyone to dance and sing in the square.
Photo: Charley Smith28/37As the parade made its way back to Casa Hyder, Tipper and I stayed back to have a playful moment alone together. This colorful street provided such a beautiful backdrop.
Photo: Charley Smith29/37We snuck away during the cocktail hour to steal a moment on the upper terrace to watch the sunset.
Photo: Charley Smith30/37As the sun set, our guests made their way to the back garden for dinner and speeches.
Photo: Charley Smith31/37I wanted the tent to have lots of candlelight to give a warm and romantic ambience. It was perfect!
Photo: Charley Smith32/37My dad’s speech, full of embarrassing stories and funny memories, had everyone laughing.
Photo: Charley Smith33/37After dinner we made our way to the terrace by the pool for dancing. This picture captures the magic of the night. We really felt like we were dancing among the stars.
Photo: Charley Smith34/37We chose an acoustic version of Elvis Presley’s “Can‘t Help Falling in Love” for our first dance.
Photo: Charley Smith35/37The twinkling tin stars over the pool had such a magical effect.
Photo: Charley Smith36/37I changed into a playful Marchesa fringed dress and Ranjana Khan earrings to dance the night away. We used the same hand-dyed ikat fabric as the table runners to make this beautiful cake table.
Photo: Charley Smith37/37A local band, Los Rabeats, had everyone singing and dancing all night long—they even let Tipper take the mic!
