Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis are starring in a modern update of the classic Broadway musical Annie. This movie version was produced by Jay Z and Will Smith, with Sia on deck to help arrange the musical numbers, so expect to see the classic story in a whole new light.

A new biopic about the life of English landscape painter J.M.W. Turner is receiving rave reviews. In the film, director Mike Leigh used vintage lenses to visually recreate the sublime skies Turner painted.

George Condo, an artist best known for infusing classic portraiture with a pop sensibility, is showing his new exhibition, “Double Heads / Black Paintings / Abstractions,” at New York City gallery Skarstedt. The works demonstrate Condo’s latest experimentation with “action painting,” which stresses the physical act of applying paint to the canvas.
