Sadie Sink Decked Herself Out in Prada for the Fear Street Premiere

Get ready to scream, because Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is back with a new creepy project. In July, the rising star will appear in Fear Street, a new horror trilogy releasing on Netflix. The three horror films will be released over the course of three weeks, and the plots will all tie together, despite being set in different eras (1666, 1994, and 1978). “The concept of releasing three films over the course of one summer really intrigued me,” says Sink, who adds that she’s always wanted to work with its director, Leigh Janiak. “It’s something so new and groundbreaking that I was dying to be a part of.” 

In the new trilogy—which is inspired by the R.L. Stine novel series of the same name—Sink stars in Part 2 as Ziggy, a rebellious teen at a summer camp that may (or may not) have a serial killer lurking around. “She’s very misunderstood and wise beyond her years, but has some aggressive tendencies to cope with her frustration,” says Sink of her character. “Her vulnerability starts to show throughout the film, and I loved finding moments to highlight her softer sides.” 

Hopping into the project right after Stranger Things makes Sink a bit of a scream queen at this point—she even had to do some stunts in the new film, which are her favorite scenes to shoot. Despite knowing how to give a good fright, Sink says she isn’t a huge horror buff. “I love a good scary movie every once in a while, but I don’t watch that many,” she says “I tend to gravitate more toward psychological thrillers. Us, Get Out, and Black Swan are some of my all-time favorites.”

For Fear Street’s big premiere in Los Angeles yesterday—which she documented exclusively for Vogue below—Sink’s red carpet look was anything but frightful. The actor worked with stylist Molly Dickson to find the perfect look that was “cool and edgy,” to match the tone of the film. They settled on a total Prada look, consisting of a black Re-Nylon bandeau top, black cotton poplin high waisted trousers, leather loafers, and logoed hair clips to finish it off. “I think it’s such a fun summer look, and I’ve been so excited to get back on the red carpet,” says Sink. “You can never have enough Prada!”

After having some much-needed glamour this week—a reward for fighting off a killer on-screen—Sink’s summer plans will be decidedly more low-key. The star says she will be finally finding some time to relax. Well, sort of. “Right now, my life’s a little chaotic between filming and moving apartments, but after all that’s done, I’m going on vacation with my family for a while,” says Sink. “I’m also hoping to travel overseas at some point this summer since it’s been so long.”
