Many people regressed into sweatpants once quarantine began, but not Salem Mitchell. After hitting a milestone birthday in May, the 22-year-old model and Coach ambassador wanted to embrace an adult wardrobe, even if she wasn't going anywhere. "I've been trying to elevate my style while in isolation. I turned 22, and while that's still really young, I want to feel a bit more grown-up," Mitchell shared via email from Los Angeles. "My style is playful, cute, comfortable, and a touch sultry. While I love getting dressed up, I'm someone who moves around a lot, so I try to create cute looks that are wearable regardless of what adventure I get into."
Inspired by her mother's 90s wardrobe and the designer pieces she gets a first look at thanks to her editorial work, Mitchell shares many of her generation's style obsessions — crop tops, vintage, and sneakers among them. Known to incorporate in statement accessories like artsy handbags covered in Basquiat references and chunky gold jewelry into each outfit, Mitchell uses fashion to elevate her mood and avoids going overly casual. "I'll wear a matching pajama set or a cool workout outfit instead of just a t-shirt and sweats 24/7," she explains. "At the beginning of quarantine, I felt like this would all pass quickly, so I didn't care as much about my day to day wear. Now, I'm at a place where I want to feel good every day regardless of where I am."

Today, I had some emails to reply to and some interview questions to answer, plus I wasn't ready for the weekend to be over even though every day is a Monday during this quarantine. I wore this cozy Coach x Basquiat sweater and sat at my kitchen table on the computer for a few hours. This sweater is probably my favorite piece from the collectsion because it's the perfect balance between cozy and comfortable while still fashion-forward.

I went for a walk today; I've been trying to get outside more, especially since it's finally summertime, and the sun doesn't set until later in the evening. I kept it simple for my daily walk with a one-shoulder top, my favorite vintage Levi's, my Air Force 1's, and a cream Coach x Basquiat bag. I added my favorite accessories, which are gold hoop earrings and layered gold necklaces.

My only outing today was the grocery store. I swear my life is not always this boring, but I keep the outings to a minimum due to COVID. It's sooo hot in LA, so I wore this Orseund Iris tank top, blue jeans, and Coach sneakers!

Chillin per usual. My go-to summer outfit is always these jeans and sneakers, so of course, on this Thursday, I relaxed a bit in my bean bag wearing my Astroworld Tee, Vintage Levi's, and Coach sneakers.

Friday night used to be the start of great weekends out for me; I miss that, so I threw on a little black dress from Tank Air and a cute Coach x Basquiat bag and walked all the way down from my room to the living room!

It was another hot day, and I had a walk, plus a few errands to run. I put on this cute full uniform outfit, paired it with a brown Coach bag, and snapped a few mirror pictures with my Wildflower Gemini case because I am a very proud Gemini!

I had a lazy day today: I watched a few basketball games on TV, made some pasta, and played Pacman on this awesome machine I bought earlier this year. I wore some vintage denim shorts, a Jesse Jo Stark crewneck, and Coach sneakers.
