Photo: Chai Lizeng1/18At the welcome drinks reception, I wore this beautiful dress designed and handmade by my old Central Saint Martins classmate and close friend in Hong Kong, Budi Adji. He spent a few months putting together every little detail by hand to create this opening number to greet guests.
Photo: Chai Lizeng2/18We wanted a unique and Chinese-themed invitation. It took me a while to finalize the design, but our guests loved them.
Photo: Chai Lizeng3/18We were so fortunate to have friends and family travel from as far and wide as New Zealand, British Virgin Islands, the U.S., Kenya, Sri Lanka, and so many other locations. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York and the Duchess of York along with Lady Lucy Tang and Mr. Dave Clark can be seen here at our welcome drinks reception.
Photo: Chai Lizeng4/18At our welcome drinks reception, we had a calligraphy artist available to make pieces of art for the guests to take home. It was great to see our guests collectsing their personal souvenir of the trip. I think some of the phrases they asked him to translate were NSFW!
Photo: Chai Lizeng5/18Here you can see Ms. Becky Corbin-Murray and Mr. Edward Tang delivering my wedding gown to my dressing room at the China Club, where we later held our wedding banquet.
Photo: Chai Lizeng6/18For jewelry, I wore a pair of Graff diamond earrings, which were a gift from my father and a watch that used to belong to my grandmother and has been passed down the family. My necklace and bracelet were gifts from my mother for my eighteenth and thirtieth birthdays.
Photo: Chai Lizeng7/18This picture is taken in the car on the way to the church. My father is on the phone canceling his lunch booking at a local restaurant because I had just told him I had expected to have lunch together after the wedding service. As usual, he had made his own separate plans!
Photo: Chai Lizeng8/18We had a fairly traditional ceremony at St. Michael's Church in Dongcheng District, Beijing.

Photo: Chai Lizeng10/18At the last minute, we had to arrange for a replacement priest, and Father Liu made the ceremony incredibly memorable with his off-the-cuff comments and occasional pronunciation hiccups.
Photo: Chai Lizeng11/18On leaving the church, we were bombarded with petals, rice, and good wishes from our bridesmaids, groomsmen, and guests.
Photo: Chai Lizeng12/18Guests gather to grab the bouquet. What you can't see in this picture is the crowd of bemused local Beijingers behind the camera wondering what is going on in the church courtyard!
Photo: Chai Lizeng13/18A post-service picture in the courtyard of the China Club. The temperature was close to freezing at this point!
Photo: Chai Lizeng14/18For the traditional Chinese rituals I wore this Gua dress, which I designed myself and was made for me by my close friend, designer Huishan Zhang. In the background you can see the Bird's Nest National Stadium, which provided the backdrop to our welcome drinks reception in Beijing.
Photo: Chai Lizeng15/18Here is my mother, Ms. Susanna Cheung, and I wearing our traditional Chinese outfits.
Photo: Chai Lizeng16/18For the banquet, I wore this stunning Giambattista Valli gown with ruby embellishment. Here I am with my mom and Christopher's mom, Margaret Owen, both of whom looked so beautiful.
Photo: Chai Lizeng17/18After our banquet dinner, our guests enjoyed a superb live show by the Beijing Beatles, a cover band based in Beijing who had everyone rocking the dance floor.
Photo: Chai Lizeng18/18Our cake was made by a friend of Christopher's who runs the Lollipop Bakery in Beijing. She made us a beautiful cake and matching cupcakes for guests to snack on later in the evening.
