Vogue100 Members Celebrated the Spring 2020 Season With an Intimate Breakfast

The Spring 2020 season might have culminated just one week ago with Louis Vuitton’s grand homage to Paris’s Belle Époque, but in the Vogue offices, memories of the New York, London, Milan, and Paris collectsions are still very fresh. In between preparing trend reports and attending editorial meetings to hammer out our stance on the shows, editors mingled with members of the Vogue100 to discuss the highs of the Spring 2020 collectsions. After being welcomed into Anna Wintour’s own office—which had been transformed into a relaxing breakfast area, the editor in chief, who reflected on sustainability as one of the season’s main messages, members and editors broke into small groups to rehash the catwalks over coffee, juice, and parfaits.

Even before Vogue Creative Director Sally Singer and Triple Five group chief creative officer Ken Downing stood to moderate a casual chat—of which sustainability was another main theme—tables were abuzz with the eco message of the collectsions and the omnipresence of bold, tropical prints. Of course, Jennifer Lopez’s star turn at Versace was a big talking point, as was Dries Van Noten’s collaboration with Christian Lacroix, though few topics could match the excitement of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s recent Valentino collectsion. (Expect to see those capes everywhere come March.) As the brunch came to a close, guests were sent off with gift bags from Dr. Barbara Sturm and plenty of fuel for *Vogue’*s upcoming Forces of Fashion conference, where editors and Vogue100 members will be able to mingle once again but this time, with designers like Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, and Dior Men’s Kim Jones.
