Photo: Braedon Flynn1/35Aspen was not where we initially planned to get married. But, it is a place that is so special to Nico and me. It has become a tradition to come every year for Christmas with a group of our friends.
Photo: Braedon Flynn2/35The women in our immediate families—and Erin, who married us. We gave everyone custom Hill House Home pajamas.
Photo: Braedon Flynn3/35I borrowed antique jewelry from my friend Hilary Tisch and from Broken English in Los Angeles. Also, Lorraine Schwartz was kind enough to send me jewelry for the wedding weekend. Those big dangling diamond earrings are hers—I wore them on my wedding night. They were perfect with the Marc Jacobs dress I changed into.
Photo: Braedon Flynn4/35My dear friend and hairstylist, Scott [Cunha], did my hair for the weekend. Vincent [Oquendo], who works with several of my clients, did my makeup. With both of their very busy schedules, I felt lucky to have them there.
Photo: Braedon Flynn5/35I went with my mother dress shopping and could not find anything right. I felt so fortunate to have this wedding dress made for me. Hedi [Slimane] is brilliant, and this was a dream dress. It felt timeless, modern, and sexy without being too feminine.
Photo: Braedon Flynn6/35Those sandals were once black suede. I had them re-covered in a white satin.
Photo: Braedon Flynn7/35Because we changed our venue from St. Barth’s to Aspen at the last minute, I ended up with a lot of extra options.
Photo: Braedon Flynn8/35We consider Jen Meyer family, so it’s very special that she made us our wedding bands (and helped me with the dress process). She secretly asked each of us what we wanted to engrave inside.
Photo: Braedon Flynn9/35From the start, I knew I wanted a long train. The covered buttons down the back and up the arms were such a special detail, as was the embroidery inside.
Photo: Braedon Flynn10/35Even though we didn't do wedding parties, my sister was essentially my maid of honor. Sisters are the best. Here she is helping me into my dress.

Photo: Braedon Flynn12/35My engagement ring was designed by James de Givenchy of Taffin.
Photo: Braedon Flynn13/35He has the same embroidery in a blue linen suit (intended for our initial wedding destination).
Photo: Braedon Flynn14/35I decided last-minute to wear a veil down the aisle. I’m happy I did.
Photo: Braedon Flynn15/35Our wedding planner, Lisa [Vorce], knew how important candlelight was to me. It was either a petal toss or candles—doing both was a fire hazard, I opted for the latter.
Photo: Braedon Flynn16/35I got dressed in a barn on the property. Family and friends came early for drinks and photos.
Photo: Braedon Flynn17/35This is my mother, some of my girlfriends, and me taking tequila shots before the ceremony.
Photo: Braedon Flynn18/35Eric Buterbaugh took fabric from my dress to wrap my lily of the valley bouquet. The flowers were flown in by a friend whose flight was rerouted to a further airport because of weather. They arrived 20 minutes before I walked down the aisle.
Photo: Braedon Flynn19/35Even though there were 200 people there, the ceremony felt very intimate and romantic.
Photo: Braedon Flynn20/35This was the best part of the entire weekend. Having our best friend (Erin) marry us made us feel comfortable and kept the mood of the entire ceremony light yet so personal.
Photo: Braedon Flynn21/35Nico surprised me, and Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” played as we walked out of the ceremony. He probably knew I would’ve said no if he had asked me beforehand.
Photo: Braedon Flynn22/35It rained all day. I hear that’s good luck.
Photo: Braedon Flynn23/35Nico and his nephews—Rylo and Clayton. They were on the dance floor all night. Rylo finally passed out on a velvet couch around midnight, but Clay was doing the dab until 2:00 a.m.
Photo: Braedon Flynn24/35My mother and father surprised us with this local bluegrass band that played during cocktail hour.
Photo: Braedon Flynn25/35Carlos, Sara, Nicole, and Joel—it meant so much to us to have our friends there.
Photo: Braedon Flynn26/35These plates were all Lisa’s [Vorce] idea. The assorted vintage China was the perfect touch.
Photo: Braedon Flynn27/35The happily married couple.
Photo: Braedon Flynn28/35This was my parents’ cake topper—and my grandparents before them. The cake was Funfetti-flavored—not the traditional choice, but it’s my favorite.
Photo: Braedon Flynn29/35Kate [Hudson] is Nico’s oldest friend from childhood and therefore is like a sister to me. All of the speeches were a real highlight of the wedding weekend.
Photo: Braedon Flynn30/35If you look closely you can see Nico grabbings for the cake with his hands—in an attempt to shove it in my face.
Photo: Braedon Flynn31/35Everyone got really into the hora.
Photo: Braedon Flynn32/35Ashley, the transporter of the flowers, and Selby.
Photo: Braedon Flynn33/35The days leading up to the wedding allowed everyone to get to know each other. By Saturday, we were like one big happy family.
Photo: Braedon Flynn34/35This is us taking a break from dancing. I can tell because we all look very dewy.
Photo: Braedon Flynn35/35I can only hope we are as happy as we are in this picture, forever.
