The inspiration was really, very simply, just surfing

and wetsuits.

I am not a surfer. I do love the idea of surfing

and I love just the free and youthful spirit of surfing.

Every collectsion starts with your life.

I like my collectsions to evolve as opposed to

change every season, so every season,

I like that original suit that I made 12, 13 years ago

to evolve into something that's interesting for that season

but then also makes that classic grey suit interesting.

The real story in the actual collectsion

was based on the wet suit

and it was really taking three different versions

of the collectsion, all separate pieces that were connected

by the zipper in the back

and then the last group,

it's actually all trompe l'oeil-ed into one piece.

I wanted it to be a very happy show

and very uplifting, very young feeling

but also a celebration of seriously made clothes

but reference something somewhat utilitarian.
