It’s been a great week for Zendaya super-fans: The star made an appearance at the fall 2026 Louis Vuitton show in Paris just a few days ago (in bridal white, no less)—and today, she also walked the red carpet at the 2026 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards.

While many have been taking these new Zendaya spottings as a moment to speculate whether she and Tom Holland are actually freshly married, the star channeled her energy into delivering some serious statement fashions. This afternoon, for one, she wore vintage one-shouldered Cachè flower dress, and accessorized with Cartier jewels. I know what you’re thinking. . . the dress looks familiar, right?

Her white frock with gold embroidery is, in fact, an iconic design has lived a few different lives in the spotlight. Notably, back in 2008, Zendaya’s Cachè dress was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the opening sequence of the Sex and the City movie. You remember the scene: When Carrie Bradshaw saunters down a Manhattan sidewalk during the opening titles, and a flock of fashionistas proceed to fawn over her dress. The look, costume designed by Patricia Field, has since become one of the most memorable outfits from the film. But it turns out, it is not the first time the floral dress has had a major celebrity moment.

Her Cachè dress is actually a replica of an original Eugene Alexander dress, and back in 1987, Whitney Houston was seen wearing it for a promotional shoot. It’s a little known fact that the Sex and the City frock was, in fact, an homage piece—and Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach cleverly chose to revive it once again. Zendaya is no stranger to rocking archival fashion, of course, so this latest red carpet win is simply another knockout to add to her collectsion. More than four decades later, it’s such a good dress that it has looked fabulous on every high-profile wearer.
