This Week, the Best Dressed Stars Embraced a Sense of Spunk

The last few days of the Cannes Film Festival in France have delivered some memorable fashion moments. Stars embraced glitz and glamour—a Cannes signature—but infused their looks with a sense of spunk. Most memorably, however, she wore a slinky, white Tom Ford-era Gucci gown with hip cutouts from the fall 1996 collectsion. Indelible vintage was a trend this week. Take the Junya Watanabe fall 2002 gown that Maisie Williams wore to the premiere of her new show, Pistol. The sweetheart neckline and embellishment felt chic, but when paired with her bleached brows and 2000s updo, it felt young and fresh. Amal Clooney did the same when she attended the Prince’s Trust Awards in London wearing a vintage, strapless floral number in red and white. The dress felt retro in the best way, but Clooney brought it into the now by forgoing any jewelry and accessorizing with sleek white pumps, letting the design shine entirely by itself.
