The Best Dressed Stars of the Week Were All About Great Gowns, Beautiful Gowns

Last week, the best dressed stars on the red carpets and city streets rang in the official start of spring with vibrant colorways and playful textures, officially packing away outerwear and wintry layers to instead don diaphanous silhouettes and light-as-air dresses. And now, outside of the awards season and fashion month tumult, it’s certainly time for celebrities to experiment with their style.

The A-listers that descended on Las Vegas for the annual CinemaCon event brought a playful variety of ’fits. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande dropped by The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to debut the trailer for Wicked: For Good, forgoing their method dressing beat for their own personal twists on the little black dress: Erivo in Alaïa’s spring 2025 collectsion and Grande in a drop-waist Emporio Armani dress. Elsewhere at the Sin City convention, Sydney Sweeney opted into Wiederhoeft’s “corset program” in a look that stayed in step with her signature, bombshell stylistic codes. Ayo Edebiri and Jenna Ortega both forewent the evening gown: Edebiri wore sleek and chic prada, while Ortega donned a Daphne from Scooby Doo-esque Versace lilac short suit. Teyana Taylor turned to Daniel Roseberry, but instead of the expected sculptural Schiaparelli dress, she chose a majestic maxi coat.

The talk show circuit was also an arena for great fashions: Severance’s Britt Lower continues to cultivate her refined yet playful approach to dressing with stylist Rose Forde, wearing a floor-length, cobalt blue sequin Conner Ives dress on the Jimmy Fallon couch—and to toot a trumpet. Aimee Lou Wood dropped by the Drew Barrymore Show in a long leather belted trench, keeping it cute with darling white socks and Mary Janes.

And at this week’s premieres, the stars pulled out their great gowns (beautiful gowns…): Michelle Williams chose a romantic, plunging white Proenza Schouler dress with daring cut-out sides for the Dying For Sex screening in New York, while over in London, Caitriona Balfe looked to highlighter yellow Louis Vuitton to walk the red carpet for The Amateur’s premiere.
