Plumage, Paillettes, and More: The Attico Throws a New York Fashion Week Festa at The Nines 

The Attico may take center stage in Milan, but the six-year-old Italian brand—helmed by street style stars-turned-bona fide designers Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini—made a sparkling entrance into Manhattan last night to celebrate the opening of their Wooster Street pop-up. The occasion was feted with a 60-person dinner—with many more joining for the dance party that followed—at The Nines, where The Attico's calling card plumage, paillettes, and animal prints were on full display. 

In true Milanese fashion, scantily-clad guests—Laura Harrier, Vittoria Ceretti, Athena Calderone, and far too many other social media sensations to count—didn't take their seats until well after 10 p.m. when hamachi crudo, shrimp cocktails, and uni-dotted brioche buns took over the red lacquered table tops. But even steaming potatoes covered with mounds of caviar (a Nines signature) couldn't stop the crowd from jumping to their feet as the piano bar's dimmed lights raised and Gloria Gaynor, microphone in hand, walked through the velvet curtains. While the queen of disco belted out "Killing Me Softly" and "I Will Survive," the elegant room transformed into a dance floor—some attendees even stood atop chairs to capture the moment—before everyone sauntered back to their Bordeaux booths and ice-cold martinis. 

The night was still young when the final plates of chocolate cake were cleared, at least in the eyes of Ambrosio and Tordini—and the stiletto-heeled followers who'd come out to party with them. Making their way downstairs to the club at Acme, ritzy revelers were greeted by DJ Carlita, who spun tracks into the wee hours of the morning. After all, with outfits like these, who would dare turn in early?
