Beauty Marks is back: It’s the time of the week when Vogue selects the best of celebrity beauty and the worlds of fashion and pop culture’s most aesthetic moments. Each week, you’ll find a curation of artistic nail decals, glam gone rogue, experiments in hair, and red carpet reveals. It’s as much about celebrity beauty as it is about their glam teams and the creators making the trends that you’ll be desperate to pin to your Pinterest board.
This time, Charli xcx felt her dreamy pin-up fantasy with nostalgic hair clips pinning together the look. One of Addison Rae’s right-hand women, dancer and movement director Lexee Smith, brought an alternative shade of millennial pink to her lips—it’s giving MAC Candy Yum Yum. Wednesday actor Emma Meyers debuted a whimsical, wispy haircut, while fellow castmember Jenna Ortega gave a new, ornate take on her usual gothic glam. Carey Mulligan also underwent the chop, showcasing what Vogue is calling the ‘Carey crop,’ and elsewhere in hair, Aespa’s Winter braided her auburny hair into a thick, curly side plait.
In the world of nails, the nail artist legend that is Mei Kawajiri created a cartoonish, romantic, super impressive set that features swords, angel wings, and cutesy animals. British nail artist Coca Michelle, known for her elevated and imaginative manicures, conjured up several brain-melting sets, including a sharply designed arrow nail.
The red carpet was also a place for vibrant glam, this week, at the GLAAD Awards—Dylan Mulvaney had a sharp, architectural eye, and Cynthia Erivo was all, well, Cynthia Erivo with her nails. Doechii leaned into the aesthetics of her full Margiela look, with hair, makeup, and nails that took cues from pirates and cyberpunks—very Galliano.

Dylan Mulvaney’s Broadway diva beauty
Dylan Mulvaney turned out for the GLAAD Media Awards wearing a pale yellow princess dress by Mark Gong, and had some showstopping Broadway diva beauty by MUA Armando Kole and hairstylist Annie & Nora. Dylan, or ’60s Barbra Streisand? The dramatic winged eye and sleek, quietly detailed up-do was every bit of Barb, done Dylan’s way.

Cynthia Erivo’s high-drama nails
Another look from the red carpet of the GLAAD Awards, Cynthia Erivo pulled out another detailed and dramatic nail look. Erivo, who accepted the Stephen F. Kolzak Award on the evening, was dressed in a simple black, deconstructed LBD, so all the attention was on her mani, gold and silver studded.

Wednesday actor Emma Myers is the latest to go for the springtime chop. Hairstylist Bridget Badger—who has coiffed the hair of Kaia Gerber and The White Lotus’s Michelle Monaghan—took the scissors to Myers hair and cropped it into a whimsical, flicky micro bob with wispy bangs.

As we know, Jenna Ortega is as much about method glamming as she is method dressing. Still on the press tour for Death of a Unicorn, she wore an elaborate, blood red and black Oscar de la Renta gown, with similarly romantic goth glam to match. MUA Vincent Oquendo described the look with “unicorn blood lips,” stained purple around the lip line and blossoming into a rustier red in the pillowy part of the lip. Hairstylist Bobby Eliot provided soft, seductive waves.

Nail artist Mei Kawajiri (aka @nailsbymei) created a hyper-detailed and hyper-cutesy set of nails full of meaning. The two thumbs are swan lovers, to represent herself and her partner Avery. One hand also features angel wings and a sword, to reflect motherhood and strength. Adorable and talented!

Makeup artist Yasmin Istanbouli gives Charli the bleary-eyed bombshell glam she loves. Wet, rosebud lips with an exaggerated cupid’s bow, smoky eyes with a tight waterline, those strong brows. Hairstylist Matt Benns, who recently gave Charli a striking side part, teased her curls and finished it off with hot pink hair clips.

Doechii was the next on the GLAAD Media Awards red carpet, where she brought every accessory she owns for a full Maison Margiela look. Her intricate, tiny braids spelled out a star on her skull, graduating down into thick wooden beads.

Aespa’s Winter’s side plait
Kim Min-jeong, aka Winter from Aespa, wore her auburn-tinted hair in a thick and sumptuous side plait, leaving some curled face framing pieces to cultivate a whimsical, feminine aesthetic. Along with her glass skin, soft-focus pink lip, and bouquet blushing cheeks, it’s pitch perfect for Spring.
