“It’s fitting that we’re here in the space that was formerly the iconic Four Seasons [now The Grill]—the place where the power lunch was born,” said Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of Bumble. “Well, that power lunch is no longer just men. We all deserve a seat at the table!” At this, the room erupted in cheers and applause. The women in attendance (along with a few men) had gathered to celebrate Bumble’s latest venture, Bumble Bizz, a career networking space where, like with the dating app, women have to make the first move for any kind of heterosexual interaction.
