We are in the midst of a pearl renaissance. Gone are the days of bashfully donning your grandmother’s pearl studs or having flashbacks to school picture day from the mere sight of a pearl strand. Whether baroque or freshwater, worn on a bracelet or a ring, you simply can’t go wrong with a classic pearl. Even Prabal Gurung, the creative director of the Japanese jewelry brand Tasaki, has featured major pearl creations alongside his most recent collectsions.
What we love most about pearls is the beauty that lies in their unadorned simplicity. An artful arrangement of pearls, as seen in Sophie Bille Brahe’s sumptuous Venezia earrings or Sarah & Sebastian’s ethereal Buoy ring, still goes a long way.
