In Paris, Bella Hadid, Paloma Elsesser, and More Celebrated Dior’s Latest Lipstick Launch With Jorja Smith

It should be no surprise that Dior named acclaimed singer Jorja Smith a beauty ambassador—the British R&B star has become known for her chameleonic onstage appearances. One night she’ll don a nude lip and floral-printed stiletto-shaped nails, and on another her lips will be colored in bold crimson and her eyes a deep blue.

But last night, at an event following Dior’s Spring 2020 show, Smith was wearing a warm nude color from the Rouge Dior Ultra Care lipstick collectsion, the latest of the maison’s beauty launches. “I’m quite open to trying any beauty look,” explained Smith of her cosmetic adventurousness.

Hosted at Caviar Kaspia with Smith and Peter Philips, the image director of Christian Dior makeup, the dinner fêted the new launch. Vodka and wine were flowing as guests tried to choose between salmon with blinis and crème fraîche or crab salad before the main course of Caviar Kaspia’s legendary caviar baked potatoes.

At dinner, Bella Hadid was deep in conversation with model Paloma Elsesser, while Luka Sabbat, Sita Abellan, Sami Miro and Smith conversed and sipped Champagne nearby. There were plenty of selfies snapped between Hadid, Philips, and Smith—and her close circle of friends. Also in attendance were the breakout stars of Stranger Things Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton, who chatted at their table with Nina Dobrev. Jennifer Lawrence, named the face of Dior’s Joy perfume last year, also made an appearance.

“Rihanna is my beauty icon at the moment,” Smith gushed before the dinner. “She’s the queen of the red lip.” For her third time at Paris Fashion Week, Smith brought her entire team in preparation for the show and dinner. “I’ve never done a dinner like this before, so it’s quite exciting.”

Come the end of the night, Caviar Kaspia transformed into a dance party with everyone in attendance letting loose.
